The aim of clinical studies, or experimental treatments, is to increase our knowledge of diseases that can affect us, the effect of various forms of treatment, as well as potential side effects of such treatments.

There are different types of clinical studies, including the testing of new pharmaceuticals, training and rehabilitation programmes, surgical methods, special diets, and the use of medical devices. Clinical Research Unit and BioBank1

The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) at Møre & Romsdal Hospital Trust was established in 2017 to help promote and advance clinical research throughout the Hospital Trust, and offers broad clinical research support.
